Accessibility Statement

Joyful Voices Chorus is committed to ensuring our website and programs are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

Our Commitment

We believe everyone — singers, care partners, volunteers, and visitors — deserves an accessible, welcoming experience, both on our website and at rehearsals and performances. Accessibility is central to our mission of bringing people living with dementia out of the shadows through shared music-making.

Website Accessibility

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Steps we've taken include:

  • Checking text and background color combinations for sufficient contrast

  • Using clear, readable typography and consistent navigation

  • Structuring content with headings so it can be navigated by screen readers

  • Providing descriptive text for images where possible

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to review and improve the site as we identify areas to strengthen.

In-Person Accessibility

Our rehearsals are held at Salisbury Presbyterian Church, 13621 W. Salisbury Road, Midlothian, VA 23113. Our rehearsal space is wheelchair accessible.
